Pam Ackley was born and raised in New York City.

She received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College in 1981 and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from New York University in 1990. 

Pam and her husband Steve and son Peter moved from the city to New Canaan, CT  in 1991.

During the nineties, Pam ran her own catering business and sold prepared foods to specialty food stores.

Pam and Steve currently live in New Canaan while Peter and his fiancé live in South Norwalk, CT.

In September 2005, Pam began her artistic journey by studying at Silvermine School of Art and has worked with several renowned artists. She continues to work 5-6 days a week, both in class and in her studio.

Pam has had several solo and group shows in Connecticut including Wilton, Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Ridgefield and New Canaan.

In 2007, Pam won an Honorable Mention for her portrait "Peter" in the Silvermine Guild Art Center Student Show
